I am so excited to continue this subject.. you gave us a very good explaination today..thank you. from this chapter we were look at the electron and hole mostly.all the elements have 4 electron valences.the number of electron and number of hole be come same for any condition.example when an electron move out then it will leave a hole in s/c.there is homogeneous s/c i think..

Besides,I need to remember the basic concept of atomic model,energy band diagram,hole....

This chapter is easy if u remember the related components in periodic table such as silicon, Ge,....

i think chapter 2 is interesting.. i had learn more about bonding model, intrinsic s/c, extrinsic s/c and so on.. we need to remember that electron are negatively charged and hole are postively charged.another important things, intrinsic material in equilibrium, p=n=ni. thank you puan.. i will remember your lecture until the end of my studying..

SALAM…greeting to everybody,
Homogenous s/c is our second chapter in ELE 431. Based on my understanding, energy level in s/c consider of two types. There are valence band (Ev) which is highest band that is filled with electron and conduction band (Ec), the empty band above the valence band. Example of homogenous s/c is intrinsic material. It also known as pure s/c where concentration of conduction band electron is equal to concentration of hole in valence band.

homo means "same".as for me, homogeneous s/c is a s/c that consist one type of material(intrinsic) or pure s/c with impurities that distribute uniformly (extrinsic). thats all i think. and can anyone teach me how to read semilog graph?........

Through the first class of lesson last week i found that this getting better and better since we go more into the new sketches of diagrams; the bonding model and the band diagram.
The doping things is not kinda new thing but it was good to refresh our mind back like what we learn last semester.
So i guess the previous knowledge from material science play such an important preparation for this subject.

the homogeneous semi conductor chapter is all about the bond in intrinsic materials..this chapter show us how the formation of carrier in the material.in intrinsic material, even there are free electron at the room temperature,it still not enough to conduct electricity.so, to make the material counduct electricity, we add impurities into it
