P+N is meant the hole is heavly doped.where N+P is meant the electron is heavle doped..

P+n is the p-side is degenerate semiconductor and Ev=Ef. While PN+ is the n-side is degenerate semiconductor and Ec=Ef.

PN+ and P+N is refer to a junction with one side degenerate and other side nondegenerate, essentially all of the depletion region will be on lightly doped side. It refers to one-sided step junction. In this class are n+p and p+n junction. The notation n+ indicates degenerately or heavily doped n type, and p+ indicates heavily doped p-type material.

PN+ and P+N is the case of one sided junction, where:

PN+ is where the n-type is heavily doped n p-type is lightly doped.

P+N is where the p-type is heavily doped and n-type is lightly doped.

pn+ is the material which is the n-side is heavily doped(degenerate) and p-side is normal doped.Therefore, for pn+ material the conduction band is equal to the fermi level. While p+n is the material whish is the p-side is heavily doped(degenerate) and n-side is normal doped.Hence, the valence band is equal to the fermi level.

For PN+, the p type material is non-degenerate material and degenerate material ( heavily doped) for n type while for P+N, the p type material is degenerate materiel ( heavily doped) and non- degenerate material for n type.

This question is referred to one sided step junction.

For pn+, it is equal to n+p,which mean the n side degenerate and the p side non generate.

As for p+n junction has the p side degenerate and the n side non generate.
